Statement
Over the years I have worked with different medias, sculpture, painting, photography, and work on paper.
During the pandemic I have started with painting again, acrylic, and watercolor pencil on wood board. The subjects are pandemic related
and painted in a very settle suggestive tone with subdued colors, little contrast, and saturation. It evokes a dream
like surreal appearance reflecting isolation, emptiness, sadness and void we experienced during the pandemic.
The whitewash,
streaks, or dots on the surface of the paintings are acting as an additional layer between the subject and the viewer creating a feeling
of ambiguity and mystery.
